Dr Umaima Haider
Senior Lecturer – Computer Science & Digital Technologies,
University of East London
With over a decade of experience, Dr Haider is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Architecture, Computing, and Engineering at the University of East London (UEL). Prior to this role, she served as a Senior Scientist at UEL and a Technical Analyst at the Uptime Institute. Dr. Haider also held academic positions as a Lecturer in Computing at Falmouth University and a Visiting Research Scholar at Clemson University, South Carolina, USA. Dr. Haider has actively contributed to shaping UK public policy on regulating the sustainability and energy efficiency of ICT products. Her extensive experience includes delivering lectures, leading research initiatives, and managing industry collaborations in energy and environmental sustainability within ICT. Her current research focuses on the design and implementation of sustainable ICT infrastructures, with a particular emphasis on cloud computing and data centre environments. Additionally, Dr. Haider actively promotes women in digital infrastructure and has held ambassadorial roles, including with Nomad Futurist, where she champions greater representation and empowerment in the sector.
