Jo is deeply passionate about the transformative power of education and brings 30 years of teaching experience and over 20 years of leadership expertise to her role as CEO of ALET. Under her guidance, the Trust’s mission—Transforming Lives Through Learning—is brought to life daily. Jo firmly believes that educators have the privilege and responsibility to prepare young people for fulfilling, ambitious lives. She champions high-quality teaching as the cornerstone of success, ensuring it remains the focus in every classroom and every lesson across her schools. Starting her career as a mathematics teacher, Jo rose to become the Principal of a West London school before founding UTC Reading. She played a pivotal role in establishing ALET, shaping its mission, vision, and values. Jo exemplifies lifelong learning and professional growth, earning a master’s degree in education, leadership, and management, and being recognised as a National Leader in Education by the Department for Education. Her dedication extends beyond the classroom, as she has supported numerous schools over the years, applying her skills and experience to drive improvement. Jo is committed to building meaningful connections between education and industry, working closely with employers to bring real-world learning opportunities to students.
