John Kinstrie leads DTGen’s Energy Solutions division, delivering turnkey power solutions tailored to the evolving demands of data centres. From initial energy modelling and consultation to project execution and long-term energy resilience, his team ensures mission-critical facilities have the reliable energy systems and backup power they need to ensure data centre operation, maintain uptime and run efficiently. With deep expertise in emergency and prime power running generators and CHPs, on various fuels, both fossil and renewable, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and hybrid energy systems, John plays a key role in developing innovative, scalable energy solutions for data centres looking to enhance resilience, efficiency, and sustainability. He works closely with clients to integrate BESS technology alongside traditional power sources, enabling load balancing, peak shaving, and reduced reliance on fossil fuels, all whilst combating long equipment and grid connection lead times, ensuring data centre clients have the energy they require, when they require it.
